The Return Of Rose

Rose Tyler's return is, naturally, the television event of the year, and loads of magazines are running special articles on her comeback this week.

This week's issue of TV and Satellite Week, for example, features an exclusive interview with executive producer Russell T Davies. He dicusses how Rose's character has changed since we last saw her at the end of Series 2.

"She's older, tougher and more independent because she doesn't have the Doctor to defer to," he told the magazine. "She's become her own woman, just like he always wanted, but she's still the same Rose with the same heart, optimism and strength of character. And she still loves him."

And, of course, the hot topic on all of our minds is the anticipated reunion between the Doctor and Rose, which will take place at the end of episode 12, The Stolen Earth.

He teased: "Everyone wants to see them together, but they don't meet until the biggest climax ever next week."The Who supremo has also been chatting to Radio Times.

"The Doctor and Rose just complete each other," he said. "She had a humdrum life, with horizons no further than the chip shop, and he showed her the universe."At the same time, the Doctor was damaged and scarred after the Time War and Rose showed him compassion again.""Just way till you see his face when he claps eyes on her again!" he added. "She was always very special to him, but I don't think he realises how much until he learns of her return."
