RATINGS: Journey's End Comes Out On Top

Final ratings released by BARB today have confirmed that the Series Four finale, Journey's End, was watched by an official audience of 10.57 million viewers, making Doctor Who the UK's most watched programme of the week.
This is the first time in its history that the show has managed to reach this top position - only 31 episodes have ever made the top 10, including last year's Christmas special, Voyage of the Damned.Combined with the Appreciation Index, it's clear that the Series 4 finale is the most successful episode of Doctor Who ever made, with an added 3 million people having watched it thanks to the repeats and the BBC's iPlayer service, rounding the viewership up to a solid 13 million within just a week of its broadcast.
